It has been almost a year since I have had a minute to sit down and write up some of my designs. I have still been crocheting but my time spent with yarn has taken a back seat as I had 3 kiddos in virtual school and I was completing my Masters degree in Epidemiology.
But I have a short break where my workload is a little lighter thanks to summer vacation and my final project being completed, which means I can finally dust off the pattern notes that have been stacking up on my desk and get them published. I’ll kick things off with some summer fruit inspired coffee cozy patterns. Enjoy!
Watermelon Coffee Cozy

Materials
- Small amount of worsted weight acrylic yarn. I used Red Heart Soft in Dark Leaf, Guacamole, White, Wine, and Black
- 5.25 mm crochet hook
Gauge
- Not applicable
Stitches
- ch – chain
- sc – single crochet
Pattern
Note: this pattern is worked in the round. The ch 1 at the end of each round does not count as a stitch. When working on the rows with a colour change sc (the black watermelon seeds), carry the black through the work; at the end of the row do not cut the black yarn, leave in on the inside of the work and pick it up to carry through on the next colour change row. For photos of how to do the colour change check out my blog post Swirling Leaves Coffee Cozy
